About Us

Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. is an organization of Registered Nurses and nursing students committed to providing service for humanity.  The sorority was founded on October 16, 1932 at Freedman's Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, D.C by twelve insightful RNs who envisioned an organization that would elevate, enhance, and empower the nursing profession and humankind.

Omega Chi Chapter was chartered on May 26, 1979 on the Kingsborough Community College campus in Brooklyn, NY.

Over the past 36 years, Omega Chi Chapter has grown, not only in size, but also in the range of services provided to the community.  Today, our chapter has 48 active members dedicated to the preservation of the sorority’s motto “Service to Humanity” as we strive to increase the visibility of our profession through cultural, civic and community projects.  Although Omega Chi chapter is relatively small in numbers, we are BIG in SPIRIT!
