Dear Members & Friends
It is indeed an honor and pleasure to welcome you to the website of the captivating Omega Chi Chapter, Incorporated. Omega Chi chapter, Inc. is proud to represent and serve the beautiful Borough of Brooklyn. I am excited and extremely pleased to be granted the opportunity to serve as the President of this chapter at this time in our history. 
Since being chartered in 1979, the Omega Chi chapter has been committed to upholding the legacy of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. We work to fulfill the five purposes of our sorority:

- Higher education for nursing professionals

- Continuous recruitment programs for nursing

- Camaraderie and friendship among members

- Improve the delivery of health care services through partnerships with other professional organizations

- Creating nursing leaders within the membership who will function as agents of social change at the national, regional and local levels

Omega Chi provides an array of services in the Brooklyn community. Among those services are, a mentoring program for nursing as well as elementary through high school students. Biennial scholarships are awarded to nursing as well as other college students. We participate and partner with many community- based organizations providing health education and screenings throughout the year. Many of our members are instrumental in collaborating with other organizations to provide health care on the international level as well. 

This chapter which is known for its dedication to excellence and distinguished service to our community will continue to do so. This is an era of significant changes in health care. We will work to ensure that health disparities will be something of the past. Each generation of Omega Chi Nurses will leave an indelible mark. We will strive to ensure that our community is left in better circumstances than how we found it. My vision for the Chapter is ensure that each member is given the opportunity to grow into his/her role within the Chapter, where by significant contributions are made for the ongoing health and well-being of the community. We will continue to strive towards excellence. Our rich heritage, beliefs and values will sustain us.

 

I am pleased with all that the chapter has accomplished to date and look forward to the challenge of continuing the legacy as we move ahead. I hope this website is enlightening and empowering to all who visit. It is a good time to be a nurse. It is a great time to be a nurse in Brooklyn. Omega Chi –a Small chapter making Big Strides!!
